More information about VPN software can be viewed here:

UIC Campus

For most applications, such as Labview and software that requires a Remote Desktop Connection, like STATA, you should set the VPN application up so that all traffic is going over the VPN connection.

For the UIUC campus you should set tunneling to ALL instead of Split. For the UIUC campus this can be set in the login screen.

For the UIC campus to route all traffic through UIC’s VPN, you must perform the following steps.

1.     Disconnect from UIC’s VPN.

2.     Login to https://www.uic.edu/apps/openvpn/settings

3.     Under “Route all traffic through VPN Tunnel?” select “yes”

4.     Click (Update Settings)

5.     Re-connect to UIC’s VPN.

For additional help with using a WebStore remote application such as Stata see the instructions that are provided in your WebStore order history.
