Matlab 9.8 R2020a Concurrent License Installation Instructions

Due to firewall restrictions, particularly on off-campus and wireless connections, you will need to connect to the your campus VPN service before installing and to use this software.

Windows

This offer is distributed via an ISO file. In this example, we are installing Matlab on a Windows 10 computer.

Besides this file, you will also need the License File. (If you are using Windows 7 or older there is a .zip installer included with the downloads and we recommend using that for your installation. Extract the .zip file to a folder and run setup.exe from inside of that folder

1. Download the .ISO and your license file from. You obtain the installation ISO and license file from your WebStore order history. To retrieve the license login to WebStore and click on Order History. Find this offer on your list and click on the order number to open the order page. The download link for the license file is on this page. .

2. Right click and Mount the .iso file. (If you are using Windows 7 or older there is a .zip installer included with the downloads and we recommend using that for your installation. Extract the .zip file to a folder and run setup.exe from inside of that folder.) Right click on Setup and choose Run as administrator.

3. In the setup window, look in the upper right and click on Advanced Options. Then choose I have a File Installation Key.

4. Agree to the End User License Agreement (EULA).

5. Insert the Very, very, very long numerical key found on your Order History page.

6. Browse to where you are keeping the license file and choose the license file you downloaded from your Order History page in step one.

7. Select a destination folder for your install. We recommend keeping this default.

8. Select which toolboxes to install.

9. Choose your shortcut and participation options.

10. Review your install choices and click Begin Install.

11. Your software is now installing. Please be patient this could take some time.

12. You are now ready to use Matlab.

Mac

1. Download the installer and the license file from your order history.

2. Double click the .dmg file.

3. Double click the installer.

4. In the upper right select Advanced Options then click on I have a File Installation Key.

5. Agree to the End User License Agreement. (EULA)

6. Enter the File Installation Key form your WebStore order history. The installation key was provided to you when you purchased the software. You can retrieve this number by logging into the WebStore and clicking on Order History. Find this offer on your list and click on the order number.

7. Browse to where you are keeping the license file you downloaded with the installer.

8. Select your destination folder. We recommend you keep this default.

9. Choose which toolboxes your wish to install.

10. Choose if you wish to participate in the end user experience.

11. Review your install and click Begin Install.

12. Your install will begin. This could take some time.

13. You are now ready to use your application.
